Overview

The documentary about John Schlesinger deals with his life and career as well as his relationship with the renowned Hollywood photographer and former partner Michael Childers.

Numerous interviews with famous companions, including Richard Gere, Brenda Vaccaro, Joe Mantegna, Marthe Keller, Mike Medavoy, Michael York, William Atherton, Glenda Jackson, Lily Tomlin, Beverly D’Angelo and Julie Christie, will accompany the project.

In addition to locations such as London and Paris, filming is planned to begin in August in Los Angeles, New York and Palm Springs. The interviews are coordinated with the respective interlocutors on this date.

The documentary is framed by a game story in which the German actress Susen Ermich has taken on the lead role as a journalist. The script is written by Michael Flintrop; it is directed by Dragana Latinovic.

The film is being produced as an international co-production between Braunschweig / Berlin, Los Angeles and London.

 

 

Dragana Latinović

Dragana Latinovic is a visual artist and social activist from Berlin, Germany. She has a degree in Graphic Art from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia, and a degree in Film Directing / Visual Communication of the Academy of Arts in Hamburg, Germany where she was the protege of Prof. Gerd Roscher and Wim Wenders. She is co-founder and co-director of the German film production company Clear Cut Films in Berlin and Fenomena Film Production in Braunschweig. She also co-founded and made possible the first seeing-eye-dog school in Serbia.

Her films are visually startling, existentially moving short pieces. Her short ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀs ᴅᴀɴᴄᴇ gained cult-status in former Yugoslavia as it captured well the Dostojevkyian struggle for humanity in a country on the verge of disappearance. Her films played the international film festival circuit and won many awards.
